The Opera House
Zurich’s Opera House is regarded as one of the most famous opera houses in Europe, as well as in Switzerland itself. Under the directorship of Alexander Pereira, this most frequently-visited cultural institution in Zurich achieves world-wide recognition, year after year.

Bahnhofstrasse
The main shopping street in Zurich, and certainly one of the most beautiful and most exclusive throughout the whole of Europe. It offers elegant fashion houses, featuring all the famous international brands, large department stores, antique shops and small, exclusive shops selling a superior choice of products (shoes, furs, accessories, porcelain, jewellery and watches).

Grossmünster Cathedral
The twin towers of the Grossmünster Cathedral are the city’s best-known landmark. The tower provides a wonderful view over the whole Old Town, where our Hotel Wellenberg is also located. The Swiss Alps, at just under 3000m, are even visible as the backdrop to Lake Zurich on a clear day.

Fraumünsterkirche
The Fraumünsterkirche is also a city landmark. The north window in the transept is by Augusto Giacometti, while other stained glass windows are by Marc Chagall.

Rathaus
The Rathaus – or old town hall – is constructed in the baroque style, with a great deal of ornamentation. The interior is kept in its original condition.

Kunsthaus
Zurich’s art museum houses the most important collection of Alberto Giacometti`s work, but other artists such as Picasso, Monet and Chagall are also represented here, as well as the Swiss artists Pipilotti Rist and Peter Fischli / David Weiss. However, the international focus is on the largest collection of the work of Munch outside Norway.

Lake Zurich
